Meet Atty. Moreno
Alberto R. Moreno, Jr. (Tito) is an attorney at Barranco Legal whose practice focuses on workers’ compensation defense. Tito represents employers, insurers, and third-party administrators through all stages of litigation.
Tito developed his interest in workers’ compensation defense through his experience as a summer law clerk with the Chicago-based firm Ganan & Shapiro, P.C. During his time with the firm, Tito handled a wide variety of Illinois workers’ compensation matters, ranging from composing legal briefs to assisting with arbitration preparation by evaluating client files and drafting sound proposed settlement agreements. This experience provided Tito with a practical understanding of workers’ compensation litigation and shaped his interest in building a career focused on representing clients in workers’ compensation cases.
While attending Marquette University Law School, Tito was a member of the Marquette Sports Law Review and participated in Marquette’s Sports Law Program, earning the Marquette Sports Law Certificate. Through the program and his work on the Sports Law Review, Tito developed his skills in legal research, writing, editing, and time management while gaining exposure to a broad range of legal areas. His internship with a sports agency sharpened his negotiation skills and complemented his broader interest in advocacy and litigation. Tito also gained practical legal experience through volunteer work with organizations throughout Milwaukee, including the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic, Milwaukee Justice Center, Legal Action of Wisconsin, and Sojourner Family Peace Center. He accumulated more than 80 hours of volunteer service and graduated with honors in recognition of his commitment to serving the Milwaukee community.
Tito’s favorite sports teams are, he admits, quite questionable; he roots for the Washington Capitals, New York Yankees, and the New York Giants. When he is not in the office, Tito enjoys the outdoors, hiking, fishing, hunting, and all things sports related.
Tito’s connection to sports, particularly ice hockey, has been a major part of his identity as he bounced around the country growing up with two military parents. He has played competitive ice hockey throughout his life, traveling throughout the United States and Canada. Tito earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies from Colorado State University in 2022, where he achieved Dean’s list nearly every semester. He played on the Men’s Division I Club Ice Hockey Team and served as the team’s President. In that role, Tito managed and oversaw a significant operational budget and worked with officers to balance finances for the following academic year. His years competing in ice hockey and his experience leading a collegiate team instilled in him the discipline, preparation, and collaboration that he brings to his legal practice.
